Description

empiriq is an app to build and groom the timeline of your life experiences.

TIMELINE

Everything you do, think, and feel, the places you visit, the conversations you have - all find their place on the timeline. The result is an emerging autobiography of your life, written by you, for you.
But the timeline stretches in both directions: to the past and the future. You fill the future part of the timeline with experiences you would like or already expect to have. You can start from your big dreams, detail the possible milestones to achieve them, and repeat this process until you know exactly what to do next. Alternatively, you can start with what you have now, list the things you can do now, then the things you can do after that, and work your way up to your big goals.
You can build as many versions of your future as you'd like, compare them, and make informed decisions on which one you choose to act out and why. Moreover, these future timelines can branch and merge at certain milestones, so you can explore the vast map of your opportunities and navigate it as you see fit.

MIND MAP

empiriq is not an app to dump your thoughts into and forget about them. It is explicitly designed to empower you to refer to, reuse, and apply your life experience over and over, gradually turning it into the most valuable - and definitely, the most unique - asset you'll ever have. In empiriq, you express your life experiences - past and future - in terms of memories, goals, contacts, locations, areas, notes, and links between all of them. There are two kinds of links: associations and hierarchies.
No experience exists in a vacuum. When you think of it, a number of other things come to mind: people, places, emotions, and other experiences. Associations are links designed to represent these connections. They define the context of your experience and its position in your thought space.
Hierarchical links have two additional properties. First, they are directed, meaning they have a designated start and end point. Second, they cannot form loops; that is, if you follow a path along these links, you can never arrive at the place you started from. These properties allow hierarchies to express "part of" relationships, like a memory being a part of another memory or a goal being a milestone of one or more bigger goals. This way of building the hierarchies makes the data model qualitatively more expressive than any kind of a list, flat or nested.
Overall, you can think of empiriq as a permanent mind map stretched over multiple timelines.

NO DATA LEAVES YOUR PHONE

empiriq is an entirely self-contained app that doesn't need an Internet connection to function and stores all the data locally on your phone, not on a cloud server. The developers have absolutely no way to access your data, let alone use it against you. This is a principal design decision made so that you feel completely safe being honest about representing all parts of your life experience rather than crafting a socially acceptable public profile.

The developers of the app are avid users themselves and are committed to regularly bring new features to the table, gradually turning empiriq into an all-powerful control center of your life experience.

Now it's time to check out the app!
