Take Huang Ruo’s new symphony out into the streets of Manchester – where you walk changes what you hear.
City of Floating Sounds is a bespoke mobile app created to accompany the world premiere of Huang Ruo’s meditative new work – performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Aviva Studios, Manchester from 6 to 8 June 2024.
Guided by the app, make your way through Manchester listening to fragments of Huang Ruo’s new symphony. As you get closer to Aviva Studios – and other audience members – the sound will expand, revealing more parts of the work. Can you find other audience members to create a richer sound?
