Uber - Request a ride 4+

Uber app is really user friendly. Highly commend the fact that ours and drivers' mobile numbers are not exposed. When payment mode is cash I have not faced any issue at all.
However, I booked couple of trips to pay via credit card and multiple times the drivers called up and requested to cancel the trip stating the reason that Uber does not pay the drivers in a timely manner when the payment mode is credit card. Then when we cancel the trip we get charged a cancellation fee as the drivers wait for 5 minutes to call and tell us they can't come.
Also cannot change the payment mode as the trip has already started.
Paying by card is convenient and safe especially in this covid period. If you can't keep your driving partners happy no point in this business.

I am using Uber for years now and I feel very safe to take a Uber ride. However, now in SRI LANKA no Tuk driver is picking the ride if it’s a CARD PAYMENT. They always ask whether the ride is Card or Cash and they cancel it all the time. I am having instances everyday where my ride getting cancelled as it’s a card payment. Most of the times 3 4 rides get cancelled due to this. And when the drivers comes to the pick up location, they ask whether I could change the payment to cash if not he is leaving.
And most of the drivers are canceling once they reach to the pick up location asking us to pay them cash amount shown in the Uber and they go to the destination without using the Uber app as they don’t need to pay the Uber commission. Sometimes I have to take this option as I have no other option. I am usually using Uber at least twice a day and this is very concerning. Specially when this happens in the night when I am in the middle of the road I feel unsafe to go without using Uber app.
If there is a option for a rider to chose the reason for the cancellation due to driver asking for cash payment or driver asking to take the ride without using Uber something like that would be useful.

By far these guys are the worst cab service you will come across. The drivers are so rude and inconsiderate. I ordered a tuk recently to go work. He accepted, cake all the way upto my road and then called to ask whether it was a cash or card payment. When told it would be a card payment, he simply responded saying he couldn’t be bothered with card payments and cancelled the ride. They have no respect for other people’s time or money. This is not the first time this has happened. To top it off, Uber does not have an office in SL to whom we can lodge a complaint to. Their customer service is awful and does no good. They don’t take any responsibility for the way their drivers behave or for any other problem, for that matter. Simply the worst.
