Do you need to get somewhere right now? It couldn’t be simpler with PickMe.
1. Fire up the app and make sure your current location is correctly displayed as your pick up location.
2. Enter where you want to go and get a fare estimate.
3. Select what kind of vehicle (Tuk, Nano, Mini, Sedan, Van) you want for your ride. An estimated time of arrival is also displayed to help you decide which kind of vehicle can pick you up the soonest.
4. Double check your payment method. You have the option to pay with cash or credit card.
5. If you have a discount promo code (we love giving those out!), don’t forget to enter it.
6. Lastly, tap “Book Now” and let us work our magic to get you a ride. Once matched, you can track the driver in real time with the driver’s name, picture, vehicle type, and vehicle license plate number clearly displayed on the app to help you identify your driver.

Location Accuracy Issue

I’ve been using the PickMe app regularly and overall it serves the purpose well. However, I’ve noticed a recurring issue that really needs attention from the developers.

There is a significant inaccuracy in location tracking within the app. For example, When the driver is on the way, the app sometimes shows them as stationary or still at the pickup location, even though they are moving and also While travelling in the PickMe vehicle, the location shown in the app is not always accurate. It lags or jumps and doesn’t reflect real-time movement properly.

This makes it difficult to rely on the app for precise pickup timing or real-time tracking. It’s especially frustrating in busy areas or when trying to coordinate a pickup with someone else.

To the PickMe Development Team, Is there any plan to improve the GPS accuracy or location update frequency in future updates? This would greatly improve the overall user experience and help PickMe compete even more effectively with other ride-sharing platforms.

Poor service

Im resided in centra Colombo and I’m finding it extremely difficult to find a pick me (peak hours and off peak hours) I’ve being using PickMe for a while, and is a platinum loyalty member, however, using the app, platinum feels like plastic.

Had a recent experience on PickMe food, where I placed an order, and had to wait for the order for nearly 2 hours (even after the merchant was closed), with the excuse being no riders available, ultimately having to cancel the order. The app took a turn for the worse when then decided to redesign the app, removing features such as filtering from price and merchants that a open or closed,

In my professional opinion (specially given that PickMe would be able to afford a business analyst the way the business is going), PickMe should shut down other areas such as foods, flash and so on, and focus only on rides, communicate with drivers, figure out why no drivers want to drive for PickMe, take the necessary steps to save that’s left of PickMe, Specially now that the only difference between PickMe and uber is that PickMe is locally owned however, is doing really bad to even be justified as a valid reason to use PickMe

Train your drivers pls

Pick me ride drivers need thorough training when accepting a ride. They keep canceling after accepting which is very inconvenient. I had encountered several times where they call and ask to change the payment method to cash when it’s a card payment. Like seriously, why would a customer pay in card if they had cash in hand ? It’s up to the customer to pay in card or cash. That’s why those two payment options are available right? And when we deny to pay in cash, they cancel the ride. This literally happened to me when I had to go to my exam and the rider cancelled it last minute after accepting the ride. I had to wait and waste another 20mins to find another driver and finally never found one so had to walk up to the road to get a passing tuk from the road (which is usually very difficult in certain areas) Most of us depend on pick me ride to get to our workplace or school or destination on time but bcz of ur drivers it’s becoming very inconvenient day by day and there seems to be no improvement. Pls look into training ur drivers!
