Ratings and Reviews
Essential app for music lovers
I couldn’t find a way to contact support, so here goes..
Some clarification would be nice regarding the import functions. What’s the difference between iCloud and regular import?
Does the app automatically track new releases for new artists that are added to my Apple Music library? Do I have to reimport the library to have the new artists tracked if I don’t want to manually add them one by one? If so are unfollowed artists reimported? That would be a no no if true.
Another important question is regarding the import of artists from the library versus those that simply live in the playlist of Apple Music, namely it would be undesirable if artists that are not in the library, but live in the playlists get imported since I keep unsorted music in some playlist that I have no desire to see new releases for especially if one follows numerous Apple Music playlists that change over time and new artists/songs are added to them.
Hope that was decipherable.
I would also urge the developer to put a contact/support form on their website.
All and all great app ofc, thank you
Developer Response ,
Hello, thank you so much for your review!
It’s possible to contact me directly right from the app. Just go to Settings > About > Contact. Here’s some clarifications for your questions:
The difference between iCloud and regular import is that iCloud imports the artists you have backed up in iCloud. This happens automatically thought, I only added an option there for users that want to force this import/export for some reason.
After following new artists in Apple Music, you should manually import them on MusicHarbor. It does not automatically follows new artists you add to your Apple Music library. That’s because it’s not possible to assume that every new artists you add to your library is someone you’ll want to track new releases for. But, to make things more easier, I’ve recently released an action extension that you can use right from the Music app to follow a new artist on MusicHarbor. It’s also important to notice that, when importing from Apple Music, or from the local music library, MusicHarbor will present to you a list of artists it found, that you’re not yet following in the app. So it’s easier to see which ones you are not following yet.
Regarding the difference between importing from the library versus playlists, MusicHarbor does not import artists from your playlists, only the ones you have added to your library. And, when looking for the library, it can import from your local library (useful for people that do not use Apple Music, for example), or also import from your Apple Music library (the default option users that use Apple Music should choose).
Thank you!
That’s what I am looking for!
Developer Response ,
