Create Shots from content on your clipboard, or import from your iPhone, iPad, or your disk.
Re-capture effortlessly without having to painstakingly reframe the capture area.

- Option-right-click and drag to pick colours
- Right-click barcodes to view their contents, copy or redact them

- Set up double-click actions for custom workflows, like reducing a shot's opacity and making it ignore mouseclicks in one go
- Drag shots to other apps, with or without markup, in the file format and quality of your choice

* Editing Shots
- Crop, fold, rotate, resize, trim, and "de-retinize" shots
- Markup Shots with Freedraw, Rectangles, Ovals, Lines, Arrows, Stars, Checkmarks, X-Marks, Text, Smart numbered lists, Highlights and Redactions
(Markup can always be changed or removed entirely)

* Shots Browser
ScreenFloat keeps a library of your captures, allowing you to tag, name, rate, favorite and organize them.
- Use folders to collect Shots
- Use Smart Folders to intelligently collect Shots by certain criteria, like if they contain faces or barcodes, or which device you captured them on
- Search for shots using the same criteria you use for smart folders (and search system-wide with Spotlight)
- Sync your library over iCloud

With the Tags Browser, you can manage your tags by favoriting, renaming, merging and deleting them

* Drag'n'Drop, Exporting
- From any floating shot and the Shots Browser, you can drag shots to other apps to share or export them
- Upload shots to iCloud and share just a link for larger files, like screen recordings
- Export shots into different formats, quality levels, with or without markup, metadata, and more

* Siri Shortcuts
Automate capturing your screen, importing, and managing your floating shots.

* Widgets
Keep shots at your fingertips with ScreenFloat's widgets.
- Access shots, picked colors, tags, folders and more

What’s New

Version 2.1.5

ScreenFloat v2.1.5 (2024.04.25) implements the following new features, improvements and bug fixes:

= New Features =
- Double-click actions are now available not only for the left mouse button, but all others as well (right-click not included, it'll trigger the contextual menu) (2024.04.22)
- A floating shot's file can now not only be dragged out by dragging the document button in its toolbar, but also long-clicking onto the actual image/video in the floating shot, making it easier if the floating shot is partly off-screen (2024.04.25)

= Improvements =
- A better mechanism to set up double-click actions for different mouse buttons and modifier keys (2024.04.22)
- When a double-click action is not present for a modifier, it now says so, allowing you to jump to those settings right away (2024.04.16)
- Improved handling of floating shots and recordings with a small width (2024.04.18)
- When exporting or "advanced-dragging", metadata (tags and notes) is now written into the Finder's metadata, as well as EXIF (2024.04.20)
- Improved floating shot visibility options reliability, as well as the Shots Browser's and Tag Browser's (2024.04.17)
- Open With > ScreenFloat (i.e., from Finder) now floats those files right away instead of importing them and showing the Shots Browser. Hold down command (⌘) on your keyboard while Open With'ing if you prefer the latter. (2024.03.27)
- The performance of the Shots Browser has been improved (2024.04.05)
- Made "press-and-hold keyboard shortcut" notice in preferences more prominent (2024.04.05)
- Adds a setting to turn off once-in-a-while Mac App Store review requests, increasing potential request window from every ~3 months to every ~4 months (if there's been an update since the last request) (2024.04.19)
- The "ignores mouseclicks" info panel for floating shots can now be dismissed, and all floating shots can be restored to receive mouse clicks via ScreenFloat's icon in your menu bar (2024.04.25)
- Adds Smart folder integrity check to the Repair tool (hold down option-shift during the launch of ScreenFloat to access its repair tool) (2024.04.24)

= Bug fixes =
- Fixes a bug where creating iCloud links would sometimes fail on first attempt (2024.04.18)
- Fixes a bug where annotations would sometimes change color when the color panel was still active (2024.04.18)
- Fixes a bug where, when opening the color panel for an annotation setting, the settings popup would close (2024.04.18)
- Fixes a bug where, when cancelling annotating, ScreenFloat would sometimes unnecessarily ask for
changes (that were not made) to be saved (2024.03.27)
- Fixes a bug where, when cancelling annotating, cancelling the cancel would result in the dialog to be shown again under certain circumstances (2024.03.27)
- Fixes a bug where sometimes the opacity-info of a floating shot would remain on screen, even after the floating shot was closed (2024.04.05)
- Fixes a bug where sometimes the Shots Browser would appear at random times, like after closing a window or alert (2024.04.12)
- Fixes another obscure crash when using Quick Look in the Shots Browser (2024.04.22)
- Fixes a bug where the "ignoring mouseclicks" info panel would not follow its parent floating shot (2024.04.23)
