• Control convenient vehicle functions by using your smartphone as a remote control. For example, you can easily programme your optional auxiliary heater using the We Connect app. You can even lock and unlock your doors** and luggage compartment remotely.
• Find your Volkswagen faster – your latest parking position is just a tap away.
• Send your next destinations to the navigation system effortlessly
• Even more helpful functions for electric vehicles. Check the charge level of your battery, for instance, or start and stop the charging process.
Thanks to the simple in-app registration and the new Volkswagen ID, your vehicle can connect to your smartphone even more quickly.

To use the We Connect services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and to log in to We Connect with your username and password. A separate We Connect or We Connect Plus contract must also be signed online with Volkswagen AG. For We Connect Plus, you have 90 days from when you receive your vehicle to register it at www.portal.volkswagen-we.com and use the services for the full duration of the agreed, free period.
**Usage requires an identity check in the form of Volkswagen Ident verification.

With the app quite basic like it is, from a producer size of Volkswagen you would expect the things just to work. Not in this case. It lags, it crashes, now even cannot connect to my car for quite some time now, update after update not solving the issues. It’s such a shame and embarrassment - even bigger shame is to charge money for such a service!
I could accept this ridiculous quality if it was free of charge, come as part of a car deal (after all, it is for hybrid and electric cars, which are not the cheapest one), but charge €60/year for a “service” and not make sure it works?
Shame on VW!

Unreliable, never works when needed.
I was supposed to use it to turn on my webasta when it is cold remotely. This was the only reason I have order that webasta, since me and my wife can not use single remote for webasta as it comes from the factory. Also, remote works in limited radius.
At the moment it is almost impossible to turn that webasta on remotely with the app, so I am using cold car anyways ...
The service is payed also.
Miserable support from VW. Copy paste answers withouth even reading a problem. Not to mention that UX/UI refresh does not solve the problem at all ... why spend money there?

This app / car is unbelievably slow and unreliable. I Have been using it for 2.5 years and had seen many updates that failed to produce any improvements. Shame...
