Ralph is a mischief maker, and we love him for it. He’s what we’ve always wanted in a pet – cute, cuddly, playful. Oh, and he possesses the ability to breathe fire.
Yep, with the help of AR Dragon we’ve gone and harnessed our inner Khaleesi and become our own mother (and father) of dragons. And thanks to the app’s augmented reality (AR) capability, little Ralphy can join us in the real world.
As we look through our iPhone or iPad’s screen, Ralph will interact with the objects around him. He’ll sit on our desk, flap around the room and spit fireballs at our unsuspecting partner – like we said, he’s a mischief maker.
He takes us back to that part of our childhood where keeping our Tamagotchi alive was our primary concern.
Once hatched you’ve got to feed your new friend (Ralph loves apples), play with them (no one’s better at beachball headers than Ralph), train them and clean up their far too realistic looking mess. Do all this and they’ll remain happy and healthy. Fail in your daily duties, however, and your pet will fly away.
It’s AR that makes this stand out from the digital pets of yesteryear. To us, Ralph feels real. He’s part of the family. Training him in our living room as he targets his fireballs at augmented targets, he is the pet our landlord doesn’t allow.
But he’s a good boy and deserves a treat – who wants an apple?
