No More Buttons

View

A game that’s so simple, it’s actually quite difficult. No More Buttons will grab your intrigue right from the opening sequence when you meet its protagonist: a tiny yellow ball with arms and legs. Your mission is to guide this adorable little thing with the help of some buttons (which are actually more like blocks that look like buttons).

Getting this expressionless ball moving is surprisingly simple. The buttons you encounter, each have an arrow to show the direction you’ll move in when you tap on them. To keep your ball’s momentum going, tap the button with the corresponding arrow for the direction you want to go. Hold a forward arrow button and an upward arrow button simultaneously to execute jumps.

Sounds super easy, right? Well, don’t get too smug: things are not the ball of sunshine they seem. Sometimes the blocks you need to get around aren’t available at certain stages of the game, so even if you’re tantalisingly close to where you want to go, without the proper buttons, you won’t get there. The buttons can quickly turn into frustrating companions when they move with the ball, invert and flip their direction. You’ll be kept on your toes throughout (and have your patience thoroughly tested).

Take your time and choose your path wisely.

Before you get too carried away pushing forward, only to suddenly find your ball is stuck, it’s worth assessing the situation before you for a few seconds – tactical thinking is key, and you might even be able to avoid traps and move quickly through to the next stage. Every now and then you’ll be rewarded with helpful hints and sometimes you’ll even find moments of pure joy, like when your ball hides its limbs and rolls neatly down a hill! Remember that the buttons are your key ally in this quirky puzzle: respect their purpose and you might just guide your ball on the path to victory.

No More Buttons has oodles of charm and the further you travel with your ball, the more you’ll want to get it to the end, wherever that may be.
