BitDomo - MyHome Domotica 4+

Experience using BitDomo for two years.

My system consists of an MH200N controller with 71 actuators and 22 sensor panels. Additionally, the system includes a Bticino 3550 heating control controller with 12 heating circuits.

BitDomo was intended to be used as a simple and “lightweight” option for managing, to some extent, a backup for the full smart home system based on “Home Assistant.”

However, multiple issues, including some very serious ones, immediately became apparent. Establishing a connection between the app and the MH200N, even on a local network, can take up to several dozen seconds. During this time, both real and false pop-up messages usually appear about connection failures, requiring repeated connection attempts. After the connection is established, while polling the sensors of the heating circuits for more than 10 seconds, the response to pressing control icons is delayed by several seconds. This alone makes it extremely difficult to use the app :(.

There are obvious interface rendering errors, such as the periodic duplication of icons in the top row. Additionally, there are strange decisions regarding the user interface itself. For example, the row of icons in the status bar shifts when the system’s state changes.

The heating system management is completely non-functional—one can only observe the set temperatures and modes. Any attempt to change something results in an error message.

Comments and suggestions were sent to the developer. However, no real changes have been made in two years :(. Moreover, while there were some more or less regular updates in the first year (although none of the issues pointed out were resolved), in 2024, updates have become very rare and have not led to any visible changes at all.

Overall evaluation of BitDomo: negative :(. The project is effectively dead :(. Moreover, it still requires an unjustifiably high annual fee of 60 euros, making its use impractical. Over the past two years, my hopes that the developer would bring the system to a functional state have been completely exhausted.
