Losing weight is hard enough without manually tallying every last calorie. The Lose It! app lets you track each meal to understand how many calories you’re eating, then figure out how many you should aim for each day to hit your goal.
Lose It! features a deep library of food items, both homemade and from popular restaurants, that already have calorie estimates – eliminating guesswork on your part.
To use the app, either scan barcodes of packaged food items or snap a photo of your meals – the app will then leverage the machine-learning framework built into iOS to recognise what’s in the picture and offer suggestions on how to log those items.
If you’re running iOS 12 or later, you may receive suggestions from Siri on your lock screen related to actions you take every day. For example, it may recommend creating a custom voice shortcut for logging meals or exercise with Lose It! Once that shortcut's enabled, add food and drink with a quick “Hey Siri,” even if the app’s not open.
Lose It! can also create a daily calorie budget for you and calculate how quickly you may shed kilos if you stick to it. The app will also track your weight and water intake (hydration has a big impact on health and fitness) and after logging your meals for 28 days straight, it can educate you on macronutrients. Yeah, you’ve gotta work your way up to that one.
