Description

In Skandobs, everyone can report their sightings of lynx, wolverine, brown bear and wolf. In this way, the public can contribute to knowledge about the distribution and number of predators in Scandinavia. The County Administrative Boards in Sweden and The Norwegian Nature Inspectorate (SNO) in Norway are responsible for the annual field registrations of the species. In the registration work, reports on predators from the public are important in order to obtain as comprehensive a registration as possible. In order for a report to be included in the result from this year's registration season, it is usually required that the county administrative board or SNO visits the site, verifies the information and possibly adds more information. If an observation registered in Skandobs is particularly important for the monitoring of the species, an automatic notification is immediately sent from Skandobs to SNO or the county administrative boards. Read more in Skandobs about which observations are particularly interesting for the monitoring program.
