Description

With SODA, train operators can conduct simulator training on handheld devices
making both classroom and on-site training. CORYS cloud simulators are ideal for
student-led learning, part task training, take-home assignments, new rule
assessments, troubleshooting. Students are able to access a library of scenarios to
brush up on skills and review new routes from their tablet. SODA uses the same
scenarios and software found on larger simulators, including all 3D imagery and train
model functionalities, and is fully integrated into the CORYS software suite.
Instructors are able to create and manage scenarios from their existing Learning
Management System. In a training centre environment, SODA can serve as a
supplementary resource, used on a standalone basis or to liven up a classroom
session.
Trainers can encourage engagement and memorisation by alternating between theory,
PowerPoint visuals accompanied by a commentary, and exercises on a tablet.
Students can review and practice procedures with on their tablets before being
evaluated on the larger system.
SODA uses a central server (hosted locally on-site, or using a remote host) to run the
simulations and interface with the LMS and the SODA device.
Server availability is determined by the number of simultaneous connections
requested.
