Description

Whether you are lucky enough to be visiting us or, well, lucky enough to live here, the Downtown Williams Lake app is your pocket guide to our Colourful Cariboo Culture.
Looking for an accountant or a hair stylist? Need a caffeine fix, like, yesterday? Want to see what shops are near you? You’re just a few taps away from the entire downtown community when you download our mobile app.
At your fingertips, you will find:
• a directory of shops and restaurants
• an array of services and amenities
• a GPS-supported self-guided walking tour
• our famous mountain biking trails
• a listing of free parking lots and RV services
Our app also has content caching capabilities, so core features are saved to the phone enabling them to function off-line, you know, when you’re out adventuring!
As the traditional territory of the Secwepemc people, it seems Downtown Williams Lake has always been the heart of the Cariboo. For over 4,000 years, Indigenous peoples have been living in and travelling through Williams Lake, known as Yucwt in the Secwepemc language. For many generations, they existed in sync with the bounty of the Cariboo Chilcotin lands and waters. And what a bounty there is! Head east to find grizzly bears, cedar rainforests, and alpine meadows. Or head west to visit sand dunes, bighorn sheep, and prickly pear cactus. When you make Downtown Williams Lake your home base, there’s no end to the adventures awaiting you.
