June Parker, a well-travelled Roaring Twenties socialite who happens to be a detective, returns to her family’s Long Island estate for her niece’s 16th birthday. It’s supposed to be a wonderful celebration, but when June arrives, there’s no party. Instead, she finds her sister and brother-in-law dead of an apparent murder-suicide.
June doesn’t believe any of it, so she takes ownership of the estate and assumes guardianship of her bookish niece, Virginia. The two set out to disprove the theory and unmask the real murderer.
Whew. That’s the intense setup for June’s Journey, a new hidden-object game by Wooga. Like its predecessors, Pearl’s Peril and Agent Alice, this latest effort boasts incredible production quality and a riveting, dynamic story that drives the gameplay – not the other way around.
“We’ll be releasing one new chapter in the game every single week. This is very ambitious – no other hidden-object game has ever delivered episodic content with such high frequency before,” explains Paul Virapen, Wooga’s head of business development.
In addition to traditional hidden-object puzzles, June’s Journey features an estate-building component so you can spread out and customise your house and surrounding land. And every episode boasts unique locations and character cards, original puzzles, themed events, and dramatic cliffhangers to keep you coming back for more.
“Our writers have just completed the story line for chapter 72, which won’t be released in the game until one year after launch,” says Paul. “That’s how far in advance they are in the production process to allow concept art, game design, production art, audio, and cutscene design to come together and produce a single chapter of content!”
