Insight Timer helps you find peace. The name comes from its origins as a simple timer app for meditating, but it’s become a comprehensive and award-winning app for helping people de-stress, reduce anxiety, improve their sleep and generally deal with the stresses and strains of everyday living.
The app features timed, guided meditations from all kinds of people: meditation teachers (including many British ones), mindfulness practitioners, psychologists and more.
It features over 1,000 guided meditations across a huge range of types including Buddhist mindfulness, Kundalini Yoga, Breathing Mediation and many others. The lessons range from super-short ones for busy people to long and luxurious relaxation sessions.
If you prefer, you can just use it as a timer to gently bring you back to the real world at the end of a session.
Insight Timer isn’t just about meditation. It’s a community too. You can interact with the teachers and your fellow students from within the app, and there are thousands of discussion groups to choose from – so, for example, there are groups dedicated to mental health self-care, to anxiety and grief.
You don’t have to take part in the groups if you don’t want to, but there are lots of supportive people there if you do.
