Description

This app connects to lumi.art string lights, to edit the blinking pattern, etc.

lumi.art is a new concept string light. String lights twinkling like stars in the night sky lead us into vague memories like dreams we had as children. However, the string lights so far used very simple control methods, which quickly became boring and tiring to look at. lumi.art uses an innovative flashing method that is completely different from the existing method, so you don't get bored even if you look at it for a long time, but rather gives stability and healing to your mind.
Until now, string lights have used a monotonous and mechanical method in which the entire lamp is divided into two groups that blink alternately and simultaneously. Since mankind invented the light bulb, string lights have been used for over 100 years, but this monotonous blinking method has not changed, only the light bulb has been replaced by LED.
lumi.art flickers individually with its own cycle by circuit elements (ASIC) built into each individual lamp (LED). In other words, half of the lamps always flicker at the same time in the string lights so far, but lumi.art has no lamps (LEDs) that move at the same time, and hundreds or thousands of lamps all blink independently with their own cycle, creating a fantastic flickering that has never been experienced before.
The blinking cycle of lumi.art is random. Randomness is the essence of nature. Think of the twinkling stars in the night sky, the ripples of a lake glistening in the sun, the sunlight filtering through leaves shaking in the wind, the swarms of fireflies that light up a quiet summer night, and the enchanting flames burning wood in a fireplace. These random movements of nature provide relaxation to the viewers.
The principle that we feel at rest while watching nature's random movements also explains recent brain science research. Our brain uses a lot of energy to process visual information among various input sensory information.
As we process that visual information, we are always on edge looking for some regularity unconsciously. It is very important for survival to find regularities in nature, such as when the day gets bright and dark, when the tide goes in and out, when lions hunt. So as long as your eyes are open, your brain is always overloaded with processing this information non-stop.
The reason why we feel healing while watching the random movement of nature is because we cannot find regularity in the random movement of nature, so our brain gives up trying to find regularity and rests. These days, it is also used professionally for treatment or relaxation.
lumi.art will provide healing from the random movements like nature instead of the fatigue caused by the mechanical and regular movements of existing string lights.
