Hidden Objects Crime Adventure

It could’ve been the perfect winter holiday. The Swiss Alps, the snow and the idyllic hotel in the mountains with nobody around to bother you. You were so excited for this solo getaway, you deserved it. And yet here you are, having to deal with the news that the game you’re about to play is not called Holiday in the Alps, but rather Murder in the Alps. Oh dear.

Yes, you read that right: there’s been a murder at Hotel Reger and guests are going missing. Simply running away, closing the game, is not an option. When you decide to investigate what’s happening at this snowed-in establishment, the excitement, the thrill and the fun really begins.

As aspiring journalist Anna Myers, you get to explore the hotel and all of its nooks and crannies. As you tap on your screen to inspect sceneries and items, you’ll stumble across entertaining puzzles and richly detailed hidden-object scenes where you have to find items in-between all the clutter.

It’s hard to focus on finding the key; we got caught up marvelling at this game’s beautifully drawn hidden-object scenes.

We love how developer Nordcurrent has combined searching and solving scenarios and placed clever conundrums in scenes that task you with finding a list of items. It’s a satisfying combination of having to pay attention to details, thinking logically to find workarounds and kicking back while following an intriguing and well-crafted story.

The tale of Murder in the Alps plays out through interactions with a set cast of voiced characters whom you meet on your journey. Some of them talk to you while you explore the area, others draw you into a longer conversation that has the look and feel of a comic book with panels and speech bubbles.

You could get lost in the intrigue for hours here, especially if you dive deeper into the various chapters that take you through settings in Switzerland and northern Italy. It’s a trip like no other with incredible mysteries to behold. And once you put down your device, you’ll realise the whole experience made you feel like you’d been on holiday in the Alps after all. Albeit with a little murder on the side!
