Hold the world’s last burial in OPUS: Rocket of Whispers

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers

Go on a journey to the cosmos

View

It is the distant future, and humans have long populated a planet far, far away. Perhaps too far. To help their dead find eternal rest, these planetary migrants perform space burials in the hopes that their souls will return home – to their ancestral blue planet, Earth.

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers picks up in the aftermath of an apocalyptic plague. With no one left to perform the burials, countless souls are left to wander in limbo, yearning for peace. The story begins with John Mason, a rocket technician who is alive but equally lost. Roaming the ruins of his world, he meets a witch, Fei. She convinces John to help her perform one last space burial, and the two go about gathering materials to build a rocket.

During this search, you converse with wandering souls to learn more about what happened to this once prosperous planet now left deathly silent. The only thing that keeps John and Fei going is each other and a shared yearning for Earth, the ancestral home at the other end of the galaxy that neither has ever seen.

This game is best played with headphones. The ethereal soundtrack is an integral part of this emotional journey of two lost souls finding life’s meaning through the stories of the dead.
