Real life is boring. Why live there when you could take a trip to the charming Fiete World – populated with quirky characters and silly toys at every turn?
You start on an island, where you meet the eponymous Fiete, who’s looking splendid in a natty sailor costume, and is standing in front of a house full of fun props.
Pick up the fishing rod or try the Viking helmet on for size, or grab hold of the model Eiffel Tower.
Imagination is the name of the game: the point is just to free-play with the props you can find, to move them around and make them interact with other objects. There are no scores, prizes or objectives: all the better to make kids think laterally.
The more you move, the more objects you can unearth. Pick up the chainsaw and use it to saw through tree trunks, which in turn gives you logs – that can be used to start a fire. Or find the special house that’s packed to the rafters with tools; you can even befriend a lonely pig.
That’s not all: if you travel far enough, over an ocean teeming with fish, you’ll encounter a whole other island. This one is populated by pesky pirates and a warship that will bombard you with cannonballs, to try to stop you from uncovering all its portholes and liberating the skeleton locked in a cage.
Reality? Kids will never want to go back.
