Draw, Animate & Share GIF Art

If you were one of the kids in school who was always doodling little flipbook animations in the corner of your notebooks, then you'll love Folioscope. If you were never that good at drawing, but you wished you were, then you'll still love Folioscope.

This app allows you to create your own flipbook-style animations. Start by drawing anything you like on the blank canvas using the pen and colour tools (it doesn't have to be good – even a few dots can turn into something great with a little tinkering). You can then easily add frames until you've created a series of images, which you can play back as an animation.

We know, that doesn't sound easy at all. But the beauty of Folioscope, and what makes it so much simpler to create animations on the app than in the corner of your notebook, is that you can quickly duplicate the frames, or sections of your image. So there's no need to try and accurately re-draw the images with each frame.

As you add frames you'll also see a semi-transparent version of the image on the previous or the next frame (a feature known as ‘onion skins’) so that you know where and how to position your next image. And you can quickly flip back and forth between frames to make changes.

Have a go. We're sure you'll be super-proud of your creation. That is, until you check out the library of animations by other users on the app – some of which are truly amazing.
