Description
The Magandang Balita Biblia (MBB) is a significant translation of the Bible in the Filipino language, known for its clarity and accessibility. The MBB was first published in 1980 by the Philippine Bible Society (PBS). It was translated from the original Hebrew and Greek texts into modern Filipino (Tagalog).
The translation project was led by a team of Filipino scholars and linguists who aimed to create a version of the Bible that would be easily understood by contemporary Filipino speakers. The primary goal of the MBB was to provide Filipino-speaking Christians with a clear and accurate translation of the Bible that would resonate with their cultural and linguistic sensibilities.
