Päivämies kertoo vanhoillislestadiolaisuudesta, joka on Suomen evankelisluterilaisen kirkon suurin herätysliike. Lehdessä kerrotaan myös rauhanyhdistyksistä ja niiden keskusyhdistyksestä Suomen Rauhanyhdistysten Keskusyhdistyksestä (SRK), joiden kautta vanhoillislestadiolaisuuden toiminta on Suomessa organisoitunut.
Päivämies käsittelee myös ajankohtaisia uskonnollisia ja yhteiskunnallisia asioita.
