Living in Port is an exciting new walking tour app that explores the State Heritage precinct of Port Adelaide. See how the streets have changed, and what has stayed the same, through historic images merged with the current day.
Port Adelaide is a special place. Not just another suburb, it is a place with a distinct history and a distinct character. It was the colony’s industrial centre, a heart of industry, and a community with a strong identity.
Through historic images and local stories learn about Port Adelaide’s history, major landmarks, colourful characters and significant events.
This fantastic free iPhone app will allow you explore significant historic sites in Port Adelaide. Use the slider images to see how the landscape and buildings have changed. Take a tour and learn about events that shaped the history of the Port. The app. will continue to grow with more locations to be added, and images and stories from the South Australian Maritime Museum’s collection.
