Problematic
Update to the below. As per Editor comment, yes the feature can be removed and hence the game is playable again.
The issue of pressing an incorrect adjacent number by mistake is still there, but at least you do not have a limit of such mistakes.
Ever since they introduced the mistake feature, they basically made it maddening to play. It was already easy to mistakenly press an incorrect number, now it is even more annoying cause of the 3 strikes rule they introduced.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your feedback. You can easily turn this option off in Settings: open the app, tap "...", select Settings and turn “Mistakes Limit” toggle off. If you don't want to see your mistakes, disable Auto-Check Mode.
Open the app, tap "..." in the right upper corner, then tap Settings and turn off Auto-Check for Mistakes.
