This strategic adventure isn’t exactly like its earthbound counterpart, however. For one thing, you’re in alien worlds, waging card battles with monstrous opponents. And instead of drawing to reach 21, the magic number is 12. Go over that and you take damage. Oof!
Keep playing and you’ll gradually earn upgrades to enhance your character’s gear and abilities – and they can quickly turn the tide of a game.
Swords parry incoming blows, for instance, while laser pistols burn enemies. You might even find bonus power to edge closer to that round-winning 12.
With multiple playthroughs you can unlock hundreds of cards that change how you do battle. And with different character classes – Knight, Priest, Duelist – no two games play out the same way.
Whether you’re duelling spineless Heatwisps or disarming laser-grid traps, this creative card game is the real deal.
