CDs are a type of high-yield savings account that earns more than traditional savings accounts. They are a great way to reach your savings goals on a set schedule. The differences to the traditional saving accounts are your funds must remain in the account for a fixed period in order to receive the higher annual interest rate offered and you cannot add additional funds to your CD unless you have an add-on at the start.

Using the following CD Calculator (Certificate of Deposit), you can see how much your CD can earn based on your deposit size, the length of the term, its interest rate and how often it compounds.
