Elaze 4+

Elaze is an app for text recognition and text translation. 
This app detects text in books, magazines, websites, signs, etc. and translates it into 63 languages.

The text recognition works online & offline and supports 63 languages, 14 of which are non-Latin languages such as Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Greek, Hebrew and many more.

The scanned text can be translated almost in real time into 63 languages.
We use modern neural machine translation (MT) for optimal translation results.

No registration required. No advertising.

How it works:
Texts can be easily captured and scanned with your camera. To do this, hold the camera on the text you want to recognise. You can adjust the focus rectangle if needed: Click on the corners and change the rectangle to the desired size.

Individual words and lines of text are automatically recognised and displayed with a yellow background.

Once the desired text is in focus, press the scan button. 
The detected text will now be translated into your desired language.
The translation language can be changed at any time by clicking on the language icon.

The translated text can be forwarded or saved. To forward the text, click on the share icon below the translated text. A dialog with various apps opens for selection.
If you want to save the text for later use, click the heart icon. This will permanently save the text on your iPhone.

Tips: 
Recognising text depends on factors such as font, font color, and the right light background. Align the text straight to the camera and turn on the camera light as needed. The recognition of the non-Latin texts can take a few seconds in the standard setting. If the source language is known, please select it in the dialogue window that appears automatically.

This app launches with automatic text detection. In this way, individual words and lines of text are recognised and displayed with a yellow background.
If a particular word or line of text is not correctly recognised properly, you can turn this feature off. 


Please note that the free version of this app comes with a certain amount of Free "Translation Character".

The Translation Character indicate the amount of character you’re able to translate.

For example: “Hello World.” would need at least 12 Translation Character. Whitespace, Commas, Periods like“‘ ;!?$%…” also count as 1 character.
