A Note on Battery
We’ve spent *years* developing the location technology that powers Foursquare Swarm, making it extremely power efficient. But, as with all apps of this type, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life
New Features
- History Search Jump to Date: Jump directly to a specific date in your timeline history with an easy-to-use date picker. Quickly navigate to past memories and revisit your favorite checkins from any date.
- Checkin Suggestions Update: Updated checkin suggestions flow with a new "Scan Photo" CTA button on empty state to allow user to manually select photo to generate checkin suggestions.
- Venue Edit Notification and Routing: Added radar notification to prompt user to rate venue. Added notification actions to make quickly rate venue without opening app.
Improvements and Bug Fixes
- Offline Checkin Location: Fixed issue with offline checkins that don't have good location data
- Edit Checkin Sheet Padding: Fixed padding issues in the edit checkin bottom sheet with auto-sizing hosting controller improvements
- Create Venue: Auto-fill address when adding new venues, streamlining the venue creation process
- Venue Picker Improvements: For geo venues (landmarks, parks, etc.), the app now displays categories instead of distances, providing more relevant contextual information.
- Pull to Refresh on Friends Empty State: Added pull-to-refresh functionality on the friends empty state, allowing users to reload their activities after adding friends.
