The Puppies App 12+

The Puppies App is an app created to help connect local breeders to dog-loving owners.

We built the puppies app after hearing many people struggle to find responsible and reputable breeders to purchase dogs from, especially from younger generations. Many people either purchase through word of mouth or hopeless internet searches which can result in buying from pet shops or puppy mills. Our goal is to add transparency and comfort to the extremely intimate process of buying a dog, while also helping support local breeders at no cost to them. Created for dog people, by dog people.

Finding a Breeder:
Perspective buyers will view a map of local breeders with the ability to filter based on characteristics such as breed, gender, location, size, etc. They are able to select breeders from the map to view the breeders profile.

Breeder Profile:
Each Breeder profile contains general information including a bio, location information, the rating of the breeder, and a link to past reviews. The profile will include a section for available puppies as well as separate sections for both sires and dams. Users can directly message breeders or purchase an available dog right through the app. If users aren’t quite ready to purchase, they can also click ‘follow’ to receive breeder specific information about future dogs.

Messaging:
The messaging feature offers a simple, organized, and easy to use solution for breeders to connect with potential buyers. Users can directly message breeders about current or upcoming availability as well as ask any specific questions to further build confidence and trust.

Image Sharing:
Breeders can post photos to showcase current, past, and future dogs to help further promote themselves. Users will be able to follow specific breeders, users, and #hashtags to see their content. Users can also post photos of their own dogs and tag the breeder they purchased from, providing even more exposure.

Lost Dog Support:
Puppies can be marked lost within the app which will send a notification to all users of the app within a 3 mile radius with the dogs description and owner contact information.

No Puppy Mill Pledge:
Here at the puppies we have a no puppy mill pledge, to never accept breeders focused on high volume breeding operations and dog for profit schemes
