If you leave the app the app resets the timer and you loose all your progress

I'm very sad to hear that you did not enjoy the app! What I observed is that people use the app as a replacement for the wall-mounted gym timers. They leave the device somewhere where they can easily glance at it. I also understand that this makes the app not ideal for running workouts when you might want to take a phone with you, so I'll probably introduce a background mode for the timer for these occasions.
