What does an Airalo eSIM plan come with?
• An Airalo package comes with data (e.g., 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, etc.) valid for a specified time period (e.g., 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, etc.). If you run out of data or your validity period expires, you can top up your eSIM or download a new one right from the Airalo app.

Great experience
Recently used this app on a trip to Thailand and the experience was very pleasant. It was easy to setup, and didn’t take long at all. Managed to complete the setup in a few minutes while queueing at immigration in the arrival terminal.
Cellular service was stable, speeds were more than good enough on the go (plenty fast for communication, social media, and navigation), and the plans are quite affordable. Way cheaper than roaming packages.
Overall, very happy with the service, and will continue using this in my upcoming travels.

Pooor service when you suddenly met a connection problem overseas
Using the esim for my Austrian trip. It was alright for the first four days, on the 5th day afternoon, suddenly I failed to connect to internet, iphone shows 3G or SOS only. I was in downtown and it is a typical afternoon. I was very nervous cuz I need the network to use google map and find my way back to hotel. I tried to connect to a free public wifi and ask airalo support, all the messages I got are doubtful content keep requesting me check all the setting, and they are not checking themselves if it is network provider’s issue (I’m 100% sure it is). Anyway, if you’re abroad, I would recommend you just use roaming from the network provider at ur home country or get a local SIM, don’t trust Airalo…when something happens, you’re not able to get in-time help from a real customer service person.

Seamless Experience
I have been using esim for my previous trips overseas but this is my first time using Airalo for my umrah visit. Overall it was good. There are only a few situations where there was no coverage (which was during my journey from Makkah to Madinah) which was understandable since it was quite a remote area.
Just that I was just wondering if 5GB initial purchased was really all that since I was just using Whatsapp for text communication and I had to topup another extra 1GB 2 days before my last day.
For future improvements, it is good that if Airalo can incorporate calls to local line (not sure if this is feasible). This is because most of my jamaah (group) purchased local simcard. So, I had trouble calling them since it could only be done via VoIP and VPN is required to be turned on (it gets disconnected at times). I am sure you can imagine the situation of telling aunties and uncles on how to turn the VPN on.
I would suggest people to use esim if your handphone is esim compatible. And I would recommend Airalo of course! Thank you!
