Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions has arrived for iPhone/iPod touch!
Released as the Final Fantasy series' first tactical RPG in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics on Playstation went on to sell over 2.4 million copies worldwide. The game grew in popularity upon its re-release in 2007 as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the PSP with added features such as new movies, scenarios and Jobs.
Now, in 2011 the game has finally arrived for the iPhone/iPod touch! You can enjoy the game whose story gave life to the world of Ivalice, and whose high strategy battles bring tactical games to a whole new level.
■Game features
- Intuitive Touch Screen Controls
The complex tactical game can be effortlessly and intuitively controlled by simply tapping units and menus. Gone is the old method of switching fixed map views - you can now rotate, move and change the size of maps as you please by sliding and pinching.
- Improved Loading Times
Loading times have been improved to get you into the action quicker than ever. What's more, you can even skip certain cut scenes.

Great Update
I loved this game to bits. It is perhaps one of the best RPG out there in the market... Even after all these years. And this update has done it justice. You will notice the difference in game play. At least i did. If you are an rpg fan, this is a must have in your library.
Its fun, only when its working, though.
the story is as engaging as it was on the PS1. and with the addition of better cinematics, i was in love.
The things preventing me from giving this 5 stars are;
1. It crashes, often. i've clocked in nearly 60 hours with this game and its crashed at least once a day. Either it kicks me to the Ipad homescreen or it forces me to do a 'soft reset'.
2. Graphical corruption of the menus. Frequently, the menus will become this mess and forces you to reset the game from a previous save. This happens on the world screen and in fights as well. The only way to rectify this is to return to the main title and load a save. That means, you gotta remember option positioning, because you won't be able to read the menus.
3. Certain maps, are a pain to fight in. As this is touch based, you have to move your troop by touching the panel where you'd like to place them. Problem is, occasionally, the panels are obscured behind trees or rocks and no matter how you twist and tilt, its extremely hard to 'touch' that panel. The psp and psone versions had keypads to move around the selection but ipad relies on touch.
Aside from these issues. It gets a thumbs up from me! Love it and these 60 hours will surely grow into 100 hours or more.
A great classic
This game to me was one of the pioneers of tactics gameplay. There are countless characters, spells, weapons to unlock that you'll spend a really long time with this game.
Don't let the big price fool u, it's worth every penny. A true classic!
