Has potential but…

The app is developed (I assume) as a ticketing queue platform, replacing the old ticket paper pre-COVID. I used this app at JPJ Putrajaya and it was easy to install and the time tracking expected time to service is quite accurate. The app even notified you if your turn is about upcoming 15-20 min (which is quite appreciated). However, that’s all it is.

JPJ could have used this waiting period to let people key in their driving license/road tax details while waiting and seamlessly integrate it with the counter’s system - just so the officers require less information at the counter. It could have also expanded for other JPJ related e-Government services but… (this could actually happen in another 5-6 years time I guess).

So JPJ, while the app has potential, the services on the counter is still limited to 3 counters only at JPJ Putrajaya - the main branch next to the Minister’s office himself!

Customer facing public service like JPJ counters must improve first and the same time, move towards digitisation (which I do applaud their initiative like this app). The potential and MVP of the app should improve and added from time to time so that the rakyat could enjoy better service from our JPJ and other governmental agencies.

Too many apps

Malaysia have way too many apps and people are becoming app fatiqued. Its not convenient at all when you have to download a new app for every single thing. And don’t forget where some people dont have enough spaces on their phone. I suggest the government combine all functions into one app. Almost all Malaysian citizens have downloaded mysejahtera app.. why not add all functions into that app.
