Huge potential, buggy app

Omna 180 Cam HD works well. Its features, 180 degree view, HD, night vision, motion detection, mic, speaker, micro SD recording, works like a charm. But Omna app is a huge disappointment. I’m using iPhone 11, no home hub, been using the camera for 3 days now and updated its firmware 1.4.40275. Here are the problems I’m facing with this app:
- when turning off the camera and then back on, or when you coming back home to your wifi, it takes around 5 minutes to reconnect (both Omna app and HomeKit app). I’m not using AppleTV or iPad or Homepod as home hub.
- missing recording clips. I thought it didn’t record, but after I explored, turns out the recording date becomes 1 Jan. 2018 (I’m writing this on 7 Nov. 2019). No time problem on Day 1. Happened on Day 3. Searching for clips is another problem.
- you can only search the recording clips through calendar view. Would be way easier if the app listed all the clips in one place. And the calendar takes a while to load.
- night vision turns on not on command. The room must not has any light for it to automatically activate. Sometime my room has very low light and I want the night vision.
- Been using Omna app 3 days now and it crashed 6 times. All happened when I tried to go to the recordings.
- No cloud recording. Not a huge problem for me. I don’t mind just the SD card recording. But fix the recording problem first.
- Can’t rotate the view. I want to mount the camera at the ceiling which will make it be upside down.
- I hope Homekit too support video recording
- When it says HD, I expect clearer picture. I can’t see clearly a person’s face at 3m away with low light (night vision won’t activate at this situation, that’s why I wish they give me the option to turn it on myself)
