First Impressions! as a pro "Procreate user"

First impressions for me! If I have to be honest I struggled quite a bit around this app even as a user who uses alot Procreate most of the time. And I use Procreate daily.

This App definitely has alot of potential and I love the opportunities it opens for many young artists that will create art in the future. But for me personally it still has some features that needs to be added that were features in Procreate.

Such as the Lasso tool. That has always come in handy whenever you're trying to edit specific part of the drawing. Another feature I like to see added will be the gesture controls. I feel like not adding this will gatekeep alot of artist who struggle to make smooth lines or create a brush flow, Editing Brushes in Procreate dreams will be a nice feature to added more customisation and can stabilise your lines even further.

And various features from "Procreate" That will be nice features for this app. At the end of the day I can see that this is just the beginning and I hope this app will grow as large if not even bigger than the original "Procreate" but until then. I will only make Test animations for this app and will only make finish animations on the original Procreate

A great App but with more potential and fixes!

i have seen many people gave too early bad reviews being this app just came out for public. i myself believe you guys are in plans in making them better in each patches. for me every thing at first can be overwhelming, we not used to some things ike we used on other softwares/app. so far with patience, i do manage to make at least 2-3 animations so far for practice. my only problem is the app always crashes (i use Ipad 6th generation, 128gb), like freezes at times, (but thank god unlike other app, Dreams don’t like, make me lost everything i did). i did all by deleting some heavier files and transferring other stuff to a backup hard drives. overall, i am happy i get to try this. i hoping there are more waiting for us in the next few months or years! i really hope you guys will add options like you have in Procreate (eg. Reference for people who have like storyboards to follow easier, custom brushes, grouping for drawing parts, and probably the Guide thing for symmetrical and oerspective drawing?) can’t wait what you have in store for us in next updates.

Hi,

I would like to highlight that this review is coming from a full time animator that regularly use Animate CC, Toon Boom as well as Clip Studio Paint as part of my career.

It’s not impossible to create animation using this app, however, it attempt to simplified it interface cause you to spend more time to figure out how it works than actually working on your animation.

Mind you, with Adobe Animate, beginner might confuse with its “symbol” system and Toon Boom with their “node” system, with this app, I don’t even know what I don’t know. You can even made a decent animation using storyboard software (can’t remember what it called).

Yes, i tried breakdown using the sample animatios file that they include, but overall, this app just make easy thing difficult.

You guys should just stick with the “standardise’ animation interface rather than what ever this is.

I am very disappointed considering i was really excited to use this app especially after ‘animation’ was integrate into Procreate, and even willing to wait for months for later updates.

But alas, i have wasted 10 days worth of my saving (it may be affordable from US, but from where im from, i have to save days to buy this disappointment of an app).

Good luck on the next update. For now, im sticking to other animation software.
