Build an empire for the ages in Civilization VI.

Sid Meier's Civilization® VI

Build. Conquer. Inspire.

View

There’s much to marvel at in Civilization VI. The game’s developer Aspyr has brought the epic world-building game to iPhone and iPad with all its glorious complexity intact.

And after all these years, the series continues to evolve, striking a satisfying balance between researching scientific advancements and developing a thriving culture.

Guided by pop-up hints (soothingly voiced by Game of Thrones star Sean Bean), you’ll select a leader from among 20 historical heads of state to lay down the roots of your realm. England’s Queen Victoria can expand her empire extra quickly, while Japan’s Hojo Tokimune marshals steely samurai units.

As the game progresses, your settlements become sprawling, majestic cities, like mid-21st century Recife (top) and 1940s Madrid.

The game plays perfectly on touchscreens, with an ingeniously revamped interface. With intuitive taps and swipes, you’ll plan out the first of many gorgeously detailed cities, build a network of roads and begin your grand journey toward global domination.

And if, after dozens of hours of play, you still hanker for more? Just buy add-ons (via in-app purchase) that introduce new civilisations, units and scenarios. Control the Nile River valley as Queen Amanitore of Nubia, or even become Australian prime minister John Curtin, expanding your domain in the land down under.

America's Teddy Roosevelt (bottom) is a good leader if you want to focus on a military victory.

None of the content or gameplay from the original iteration of Civilization VI has been left out here, so you’ll find strategies to suit any play style. And if you’re good, you might even shepherd your civilisation from the discovery of the wheel all the way to the first colony on Mars.

High tech meets high art in this incredible sequel, with thousands of years of human history – as shaped by you – in the palm of your hand.
