Aloe Bud wants to scoop you up and put you back on the right path. It’s a self-care toolkit to get you breathing deeply, hydrating properly and feeling well rested.

Set self-care goals with Aloe Bud.

Its theory is that regular check-ins keep you centred. Pick your areas of focus – options include breathe, rest, fuel, move, people – and add these goals to your homepage grid. Tap a task and you’ll be presented with an exercise. So for breathing, you’ll be told to inhale for four, and exhale for four. For move, you’ll be advised to wiggle your toes or stretch.

You can set reminders for each activity, and set a mantra associated with the icon, or write your own. Each activity has a choice of three icons – pick the one you connect with best.

Check in to the app regularly to form mindful habits.

The element of personalisation is a strong detail. Aloe Bud is subtly habit-forming, a gentle way of putting yourself back in control. For this to work, Aloe Bud has to feel like it’s a bespoke mindful world.

You can also get a progress report: tap the timeline icon at the top of the screen to get a rundown of every check-in made that day, and see how you’re getting on on your mindful mission. Care for yourself and everything else will fall into place.
