“Our goal is simple, we wanted to create an app/website that facilitated positive relationships between professionals and clients in a way that hasn’t been done before,” Troober founder Terry Waites said.
“I started Troober after seeing firsthand the struggles professionals faced in finding new work and connecting with clients.
“I’m from the UK originally and worked in the ceiling fixing industry and as a supervisor on construction sites. In the UK and since moving to Perth, one of the common struggles I noticed was finding work.
“And while online marketing and the major job pitching apps have proven popular, I wanted to create a solution that was fairer for professionals (and more reliable for clients).”
HOW OUR APP IS DIFFERENT
Unlike some of our competitor apps, at Troober we do not take a commission on jobs booked, which means more money in the professionals’ pockets.
All payments are handled between the professional and client direct. How we benefit is from our small monthly fee for business owners to be listed on the platform.
With this, we then re-invest a portion on advertising for that particular business owner with our highly skilled in house marketing teams.
Mr Waites said the problem with online apps typically were that they could get overcrowded and that Troober will always remain on the medium size, with this in mind, to give professionals a real shot at winning extra work.
“We know how hard it is in a flooded market. Companies aren’t sure where to spend their marketing dollars and clients don’t know where to look (or who to trust),” he said.
“What Troober does is bridge the gap for professionals and business owners seeking work and clients wanting to find the right professionals for their job, fast.”
This means saying goodbye to hours of searching through dated directories, Facebook groups and social media to find a trade or professional you are looking for/or to pitch for jobs.

“For this reason, we do our due diligence with every new professional that signs up to Troober, we have a chat with them 1:1, check out their Google and social media reviews, and ensure they’re legitimate to give our end-user clients peace of mind.
On the mobile app and website version, the chat function enables an open line of communication between professionals and clients, giving back control to our users and allowing them to discuss quotes, services, and the finer details freely.
“We’ve also integrated GPS technology into the app (similar to Uber) so a customer knows with certainty how far away a professional is from arriving,” he said.
HOW TROOBER WORKS
We have a Professional AND Client app interface for download depending If you’re a business or end-user.
The app itself is free to download, however, if you’re a professional or business owner and want to be listed on the platform, we charge a small monthly fee, 6 monthly or yearly.The client version is completely free.
When logged onto the platform customers can post up jobs, professionals can pitch for the respective work, or clients can contact businesses directly if they’re interested.

Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
