Description
Help Me Talk About Math is a math processes assessment for Grade 1 students. It is an engaging, interactive assessment for students, as well as a series of surveys for teachers, caregivers, and Elders/community leaders. Together, the perspectives of these individuals give a holistic picture of math learning and opportunities for each student.
Askî the Turtle and his friends from Askî’s World are part of the Help Me Talk About Math assessment. Askî’s world is a unique suite of products that are grounded in First Nations and Métis holistic learning perspectives. Askî’s Pond, also available from the App store is a game that features the same characters as well as the same math concepts for students to learn and practice prior to engaging in the assessment.
Unlike Askî’s Pond (free app), the Help Me Talk About Math application is account-driven and available only to participating Saskatchewan schools.
