Mini Golf Magic puts a new spin on the classic leisure game. You probably know the drill – drag back to launch your tiny white ball toward the hole – but of course it’s a little trickier than that.
The game forgoes the standard mini-golf obstacles of windmills and barns in favour of treacherous pits, narrow paths and glowing red crystals that instantly obliterate your ball should you touch them. Ouch.
Complicating matters is that you only have a limited number of shots per round. Fortunately, you can nab coins littered around each course to spend on more shots. Don’t blow them all at once, because the later levels get hard and you’ll need the spending money.
You’ll also need the power-ups! One lets you travel back in time – perfect for undoing clumsy shots. There’s also a coin magnet, which attracts coins that are slightly out of your reach (did anyone else just hear a cash register opening?), and a shield to protect your ball from those devastating crystals. These whimsical touches give Mini Golf Magic a unique sensibility – plus they make the putting more fun.
It’s a good idea to practise in the lengthy solo adventure before taking on challengers around the world, but mastering Mini Golf Magic is just a few swings away.
