Our 2016 iPhone Game of the Year, Clash Royale, is one of those games that feels alive – because there’s a steady flow of new levels, characters and features being added every few weeks.

So, if you’ve not played it for a while, here are three good reasons to jump right back in.

Need something specific for your next upgrade? Then try using Wild Cards and Books of Cards.

Mix in some magic

Ta-da! Give your battle decks a magical makeover with powerful new items. You can use Wild Cards and Books of Cards to get what you need for your next upgrade much faster – even for Legendary cards. Meanwhile the Magic Coin tops up your coffers with exactly the right amount of gold.

Upgrading more cards will help you hit those higher levels in record time, and provide some fresh tactical options in your next skirmish. Pick up these new items in prize chests, by winning battle trophies or as part of each monthly season’s rewards.

Battle for big rewards in Clan Wars and sail to victory – if you’ve got the skills, that is.

All aboard!

Clan Wars takes to the seas as you and your clan-mates clamber aboard a boat and sail downriver, doing battle to collect ever-bigger treasure hauls to share out among yourselves.

Bolster your boat with a defensive deck, take on other clans in Duels using special card selections, and revel in the rewards as you raid your way up the leaderboards. Each month, the best Clans advance to a special high-level arena to play Duels for even more trophies and chests.

Evolving armies

Fed up of your Giant getting swarmed by small units? Swap in the new Electro Giant – he carries a handy backpack with a shocking aura that’ll keep them at bay. Meanwhile the devious Mother Witch can turn your foe’s tactics against them, transforming their troops into hungry hogs that will charge at their own buildings.

From high-firepower Skeleton Dragons to the grunt-zapping Electro Spirit, new units are introduced regularly. Right when you think you have it figured out, Clash Royale mixes up its metagame.
