Diagnostic is a general reference tool for users of the laboratory. The intention is to promote best use of infectious disease diagnostic tests to optimise outcomes for patients and reduce low-value testing. The resources were created by clinical microbiologists and are also found on the Wellington SCL website.
Disclaimer: These resources are designed to be applicable to the majority of situations, however they do not supplant the need for clinical judgement. These serve as a guide only, and we always recommend discussion with the clinical microbiologist if there is ongoing uncertainty as to the best approach in a given situation. The recommendations in this app are based on our local epidemiology and practises.
