A mirror for Westerners
Al-Jazeera has a fundamentallly different and refreshing perspective and outlook in covering the news, especially the news from the wide Middle-East. It’s a not Western-style outlook, almost inescapable for our media and journalists how excellent some or even many of them may be. Al-Jazeera does not abandon key events when they are still developping; it dares to show us the main players and their words and pressconferences at length; it makes use of local correspondents, people on the spot from within and has excellent commentators. It’s intellectually satisfying. No ‘shows’ by Al-Jazeera, but never no show where things matter.
