In Screen Time, the Apple Books app is number one on my iPad, and that’s no surprise, really: to me, it is nearly perfect.There are two things I would very much like to see in future incarnations.Number one: auto-scrolling. In the early iPad years, there used to be an app (I forget it’s name), that scrolled the text slower or faster, depending on the angle the iPad was being held; bliss!The second thing is really annoying. Living in The Netherlands, my iPad is set up with English as it’s primary language, both in Books-settings, and in Language & Region-settings. The Region-setting is Netherlands, for obvious reasons.And although the Preferred Language-settings in Books tells me that: ‘Books will use the first language that it supports from Language & Region settings. You can select a different language for Books to use if you prefer.’, when I go to the bookstore, what I see first and foremost, are Dutch books and books translated in Dutch!Now I am the sort of weirdo that prefers to read books in the language they were written in, German, English, what have you.In short: I would like a little menu in the bookstore, offering to show or hide books is a specified language.

Zelf heel erg blij met deze app, alles kan je instellen en het is heel erg handig om woorden op te kunnen zoeken door ze lang ingedrukt te houden! Ook kan je markeren en zo goed citaten opschrijven. Het dagelijkse doel motiveert mij ook erg om meer te lezen! Samengevat; top app!

Is it really so hard to ad filters? Like a language filter?

Add a web page as pdf, then see it disappear from Books immediately, syncing 1 of 0 pdfs. Despite a 128G iPad, Books keeps on deleting books and pdf’s, relying on the cloud to get them back. However, that process is a mess as well. And now, 20220805, it crashes on startup. Argh!
