Hello Indigo___,
thank you very much for your feedback and rating.
I've written an FAQ-Article to both of your questions, you can find them here: https://beanconqueror.com/faq

If you got any more questions, please send me an e-mail: info@beanconqueror.com

Thank you & always have a great cup of coffee

HeyItsMeMax ,

Exactly right

I've been looking for an app just like this for ages. I don't want all the smart features with Bluetooth and smart scales and pouring rates and recipes. Just a nice looking app that allows me to track my brews and brew settings.

Logging the bag of beans is genius, same with grinder. The brew history shows the relevant data and allows you to easily repeat the brew while changing e.g. only the grind setting.

If you want a straightforward app to log your cups of coffee and the important parameters, with a nice aesthetic (and icon!) this app is perfect.

Hey HeyItsMeMax,
I realy realy appreciate this feedback, thank you for this kind words!
I like that you see and feel the vision in this app and use it as a daily companion.
There will be a new update soon, with many small changes which will have a big impact for a much more user friendly usage.

Okay, but lots of things missing

Apps in this genre aren’t very good, sadly. The best combination I’ve found is this one (which is useful for keeping track of how much of each bean I’ve got left) and Barista (which has a far superior visual design and a recipe timer). Unfortunately, both apps have weird quirks, bad design choices, and half-baked features that make neither of them particularly satisfying.

The new look of the app is alright, but it still doesn’t make sense that tapping on something (a brew, a bean) doesn’t actually open it. There really should also be a good way of using photos in the app; as of now, you have to tap (again, multiple times) to the beans and go to a completely separate section for photos. It would make way more sense to be able to tap once to go to the details page and have the photos show on there instead of navigating somewhere else entirely just to see a photo of a bag. Even better: for brews or beans with a photo, overlay the text on top of the first photo! That would drastically improve this app’s dull visual design and also make it easier to distinguish between the items that I’m scrolling through.

On another note, why are the pieces of information referred to as “sort information” when you can’t actually sort anything by that information? That seems like a pretty simple bug to correct.

Hello Adam,

the latest update 5.2 was uploaded today.
Images are visible for beans now in the listview
Clicking on cards shows directly the detail pages.
Detail pages for grinders and preparations where added.
Longpressing on the list-card opens up the edit mode.

Bean - Sort information was renamed to "variety information" to clear out the missunderstandings.

Photos of brews werent added in this version because theres still a lot of things todo.

Thanks for your support, and I hope the mentioned issues while working daily with this app were resolved!
I'd love if you contact me so we can work out more possibilities for the user!

Hello Adam,
thanks for your detailed feedback.

The sort information was added in this update, and the sorting feature for beans were added in a first version.

I agree that the photo solution is not the best, there were right now to less users which requested a better solution for using images or giving detailed feedback whats the use case.

The tap on brews and beans is a good feature request, I'll look on how to change this without affecting the users scrolling behaviour to avoid ghost clicks.

Beanconqueror was never designed for a recipe app like the others outside in the market, thats why there hasn't been any focus yet on step by step walk throughs.

Overlaying text above photos will always been a problem, depends on which color scheme the photo is, black text on black or darker photos will make problems.

In all, this app is growing since some years, and design and usability has been changed with a lot of effort, that all cover lovers outside will have a great product.

Also this product can just as good as it can be by the feedback of the users / coffee lovers.

This app is open source and contributes are more then welcome.

I like to work with the users and their feedback to design and develop the best fitting coffee-lover app, so feel free to contact me via mail: beanconqueror@gmail.com to get in detailed touch!

I'm more then happy to add your requests/features/wishes.

Best regards
Lars
