Goede app met veel handigheidjes maar gaat niet met tijd mee
Bible Study is een van de oudste bijbel-applicaties en ik gebruik het al sinds begin jaren nul. Daarom zitten er enorm veel aantekeningen in, die ook netjes gesynchroniseerd worden tussen de iPhone, iPad en Mac app.
Ook zijn er erg veel manieren om aantekeningen te maken, te accentueren, icoontjes bij te plaatsen, etc. Verder zijn er veel manieren waarop je de teksten kunt weergeven (kleur, lettertype, lettergrootte, etc). Tenslotte is de manier waarop je een gesplitst venster kunt weergeven, met bijvoorbeeld een andere vertaling of een studiebijbel, heel prettig. Het gesplitste venster mee gaat ook mee met het hoofdvenster tijdens het lezen en je kunt zelfs het gedrag van het mee-gaan instellen.
Maar wat ik jammer vind is dat Bible Study niet is meegegaan met de tijd qua sociale interactie. Bijvoorbeeld om met anderen een leerplan te volgen, of in het aanbieden van cursussen en persoonlijke leesplannen.
Ook qua lokalisatie wordt er weinig gedaan de app is erg gericht op e Amerikaanse markt en de bijbelboeken en de app interface is nog steeds alleen in het Engels.
Verder zijn de bijbels relatief duur in aanschaf, hoewel er soms aantrekkelijke kortingsacties zijn.
Wat betreft kosten, leesplannen, sociale interactie en lokalisatie raad ik dan ook de Bijbel app van YouVersion aan.
Zoek je een app met veel instel- en weergave mogelijkheden, apps voor alle platformen en goede synchronisatie van aantekeningen, dan is dit een fijne app.
