Needs Improvement in Account Recovery and Customer Support
I had a frustrating experience with the ComBank digital app recently. After mistakenly entering the incorrect password once, my account was locked immediately. The only option to reset it is through an OTP sent to my mobile phone, which I no longer use as I now live abroad.
Despite having requested the bank to send OTPs to my email during the account setup and providing a formal letter for this when I moved abroad, I have not received any OTPs via email. This has left me unable to access my account.
In an era where multiple authentication methods like fingerprint and face detection are readily available, it is disappointing that a single incorrect password attempt leads to a complete lockout. It would greatly improve the user experience if ComBank could integrate more flexible and user-friendly security measures.
Additionally, I reached out to the digital banking contact via email and was advised to contact my branch for resolution. It's quite inconvenient that internal communication isn't handled by the bank, and customers are asked to follow up themselves.
Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this app for international users or those who might face similar situations.
