Dark Mode makes your browser more comfortable, enjoyable and cool by changing the colour scheme to make web pages easier to read. Works especially well for people working during the night, in low light environments or when you want to match your browser with the new macOS dark mode look.

HOW TO USE IT
• Once you activate the extension all websites will display a darker theme. You can start the extension manually, you can schedule it or turn it on automatically (when macOS dark mode is active)
• Just press the toolbar button and you can change to a softer theme, an e-ink (paper) theme or cover the page with a translucent curtain
• You can apply dark mode for some sites only and deactivate the theme for any site

Not great, but terrible

tl;dr: will only make pages look worse, and will also invert sites that already have dark mode.

I installed this because many sites still don't have a dark mode, and have a white screen that blinds you. This extension fixes that, mostly. It basically just puts a filter: invert(); on it. Not great, not terrible.

What I didn't know was that it also influences a lot of pages that *already do* have a dark mode, like a website that I'm working on myself. The extension inverts that too, which not only undoes my own dark mode, but washes out the colors as well. The developer couldn't even be bothered to put a filter: hue-rotate on there.

I though the extension would have custom styles for a handful of websites, but instead it just tries to invert most sites. It's a terrible experience.

Thank you for your review, I’m taking notes of all of them. The extension works very well for most of the websites out there in the wild. But if you have some websites that are not perfect, Dark Mode can offer some options: you can either add the site to the ignore list, or you can choose what sites Dark Mode to run on (only the sites that are rendered perfectly).

Not what I was expecting

At first it looked like an awesome extension for Safari, and it kinda is.. But for me personally I would like to white list websites which I want to see in "dark mode". Right now it's making ALL websites dark, and I need to check/uncheck every website when visiting if I don't want it to be dark.

Overall, if you just want websites to be dark, it's ok. But in general, most websites just don't look good and you'll end up disabling a lot of websites from being enabled. It's quite expensive for something that I'll stop using after just experimenting for a couple of minutes.

Works great!

Only one slight detail, when you drag a page back using the touchpad you see a white page that gets turned back.

When you click to start loading a page for just one second the page is white/empty before it becomes dark.

Very satisfied though having this little gem on my Mac now. Thanks guys!
