Don't over-tighten drum heads!
Pitches of a drum head tuned beyond the tuning range limit may cause erratic/'jumpy' readings displayed as random frequencies below 450 Hz.
So, in case your snare's resonant head is tuned beyond 450 Hz, the app may show an erratic pitch below 450 Hz.

Amazing!

I wish I found out about this app earlier.

I am an experienced drummer (30 years of playing of which 20 years in all kind of bands) and have a number of high end drumkits (noble and Cooley, Lignum stave kit, dunnett, sakae Trilogy etc) which all sounded pretty good already.

But this app improved their sound - and my ability to reach it fast and accurate - a lot! I am actually kind of embarrassed about the difference between what I was able to get out of my drums before and after using this app.

I had a tune-bot but never really used it because I could pretty much get to that level by ear (tune bot helped to learn what to listen to) but this app seems to be (even) more accurate for getting the heads in tune with themselves (also in a more user friendly way). But - more importantly - very very very (!) helpful are the extra options like the calculating the batter / reso intervals combined calculating the interval between toms.
I mean, that ís the whole trick, as long if you make sure the heads are in tune with themselves (which is the apps basic feature…)

What I do is first decide on a fundamental tones I want (this app will even help you there), then the type of sound I like (which for me is the reso’s a minor 3rd higher (do some research, this is very fundamental to your sound)), the app calculates the pitches for both heads, I tune it (make sure to very properly seat the heads because it make your life wayyyy easier. You can do so at every possible point where the head is in tune with itselve. The app will show you).

It is no secret (although not a lot of people have mastered this) that this the only way to exceptional good drum sound. It’s simply physics / how the instrument behaves. The difficult part is to get there :-)

I’ve only been able to really get the most out of all my drums with this app (and I’ve tried all gadgets out there and can also tune pretty good by ear, only this app takes it a notch further).

It also helped me having way more fun experimenting with different sounds (same pitch vs minor 3rd, perfect fifth interval batter / reso) while I used to get headaches thinking about tuning.

Very good job on building this app which is full of features (more than I’ve been able to use) but also really delivers. It might not be cheap at first glance but honesty; seeing how good it is, it is worth way more!

Hence the very long review hoping to help out other drummers and also for kudo’s to the owners :-)

Better and more features than a expensive hardware Tunebot

I’m very impressed by this app. Tuning is a breeze with the center and lug tuning option. I’ve found it to be very accurate. You can set how resonant you want your drums to be and head target frequencies are changed accordingly.
You can input all your drum kits (and various configurations) with all their shell sizes and calculate/set your preferred tuning based on various intervals.
The app has very useful resources, including YouTube movies.
The developer is very open to suggestions and very responsive to support requests.

Niet te begrijpen en werkt slecht

Krijg constant verschillende waardes. Waarschijnlijk als je bekend bent met drums tunen snap je het wel. Maar dan heb je die app niet nodig. Te duuuurr ook.
